Lee Jun-hyuk for the Big Issue

Pretty pictures of Lee Jun-hyuk! Doesn’t he look carefree and charming, all roses and smiles, in a marked turnaround from his current drama role where he plays the best friend-turned-enemy in Equator Man.
It’s photo shoots like this one—for the new cover of The Big Issue magazine—that make me miss seeing Lee Jun-hyuk acting in feel-good comedies, even though I think he’s done especially well reinventing himself as an intense, serious-drama actor (Equator Man, City Hunter). The image shift has revitalized his career, that’s for sure, but I do remember how adorable he was in Three Brothers, the weekend family drama where he was pursued his love interest with all the energy of a faithful puppy dog. (Note: I don’t recommend the show outside of his involvement, though, since it got on my last nerve with the shrill family dynamics and irritating characters.)
So now I can’t decide whether I want him to keep being fierce and charismatic, or light-hearted and winning. That’s the problem when you’re good at both ends of the acting spectrum; you make us greedy. Oh, okay, just give us another City Hunter and I’ll be satisfied. What, like that’s hard?
