Kim Tae-Hee's Fashion and Style
Celeb Style File is our weekly in-depth look at a celebrity’s real-life style. This week, we’ve chosen to feature the captivating Kim Tae Hee, who most recently starred in the charming drama “My Princess”. Here we look at her public appearances during the past year.
Kim Tae Hee has long been considered one of the most beautiful actresses in the Korean entertainment industry, and also one of the smartest, having graduated from the prestigious Seoul National University with a degree in fashion design. Her background must have helped her pick up some skills along the way; you’ll rarely see Kim Tae Hee in an outfit that’s totally unflattering. The petite actress often employs a well-known trick meant to elongate legs, pairing miniskirts and dresses with high heels. And it works — her legs look killer in a lot of these photos, don’t they? When she plays with other silhouettes, the results are mixed — we don’t think the baggy green and black lace dress does wonders for her proportions, although the color looks great on her. And the second long-sleeved black dress (which she wore with a ponytail) is just so-so. But even at her worst, she still looks beautiful — we wonder, is it actually possible for her to ever look bad?

As for style, Kim Tae Hee usually sticks to classic and feminine looks. (Compare her style to Ha Ji Won’s edgy “tomboy glamor”, which we profiled last week.) With the possible exception of the short silver minidress she wore to the 2009 KBS Drama Awards, there’s rarely anything shocking about the outfits she wears, and her color palette is equally subdued. All in all, it can’t be denied that she looks like a proper princess. No wonder she was chosen for the role of Lee Seol, right?
From now on, Celeb Style File will be posted during the weekend. If you have suggestions for celebrities to feature, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate!
