Lee Min-ho stills and candid photos from Faith
Not much to say about this Faith post, other than Lee Min-ho pretty. Or is that also unnecessary, being an obvious truth of the universe?
In any case, here are the latest stills; the first couple come from the production, and the last couple were posted by Lee on his twitter account. He’s dressed as his Goryeo-era warrior character, Choi Young, who serves the king and falls in love with the time-traveling heroine from the future (Kim Hee-sun). Sounds familiar, I know, but the teaser actually reminded me of why I enjoyed writer Song Jin-ah’s Legend, with its pseudo-mythical-historical fusion world and grandiose atmosphere.
In fact, Faith feels much closer to what I think of when you say “fantasy drama” — wherefantasy is the genre, that is, not just an adjective. There have been a lot of dramas in recent years with fantasy elements that don’t necessarily fit that genre (say, Rooftop Prince or Secret Garden or 49 Days or Queen In-hyun’s Man). Whereas Legend had dragons and gods and epic, massive battles and an intricate internal mythology. If this drama can do that — and with the same writer and PD, why not? — and also incorporate some of writer Song’s twisty plotting (Story of a Man) and complex character relationships (Sandglass), I’m all set.
Or, you know, I can just watch slack-jawed over Lee Min-ho.
Faith premieres on August 13 and will be a Monday-Tuesday drama.
