Big Bang’s G-Dragon Thanks Fans for Good Deed in Handwritten Letter

Big Bang’s G-Dragon has a lot more to be thankful about after turning 24, with fans doing good deeds under his name. It’s come to attention that one of G-Dragon’s fansites, GD Supporters, donated 30 million won (~26,000 USD) for its project, Moderato, for G-Dragon’s birthday on August 18.

Of the 30 million won donation, 20 million went to the Seoul National University Children’s hospital for the treatment of children with rare diseases and pediatric cancer, while the remaining 10 million went towards child abuse prevention centers and child protection agencies. GD Supporters has donated over 100 million won (~88,000 USD) over the course of four years, as G-Dragon′s birthday present. G-Dragon, overwhelmed by all the good deeds happening in his name, wrote out a thank you letter to the members of GD Supporters. He wrote, “You’re amazing!! Cool~ Pretty~ Lovable~ Awesome~ Proud~ Cute~ Charming~ For the future, let’s continue doing good things together! I feel so reassured~ I’m so happy! So happy~~!!” Meanwhile, G-Dragon is currently making final touches on his upcoming solo album.

Within minutes after midnight, fans began to flood various social networking sites to with Big Bang’s G-Dragon a happy 24th birthday. Among the crowd of well-wishers were Taeyang and Epik High’s Tablo.

On August 18, Taeyang tweeted, “Today is the day!! My man GD’s 24th birthday!! Show him your LOVE!! Happy bday my brother!! I’m always proud of you..!! And love you!!” Taeyang also used the hashtag, ‘#HAPPYGDAY,’ which fans were trending since the moment it became August 18. Likewise, Tablo tweeted, “Happy G-Day!” A little while later, Taeyang tweeted a series of tweets wishing G-Dragon a happy 24th birthday, showing that their friendship is still strong.

YG Entertainment also updated its blog with a special picture of G-Dragon surrounded by ladies, wearing very colorful leggings and roller skates. G-Dragon sits in the middle, holding a green skateboard and a giant purple furry hat. According to YG Entertainment, G-Dragon has been going back and forth from the recording studio and home every day, finishing up and preparing his solo album. Happiest birthday to G-Dragon!
