TaeTiSeo “Twinkle” MV Fashion
After nearly five years in K-pop, Girls’ Generation has finally unveiled their first official sub-unit,TaeTiSeo. The trio is composed of some of the strongest vocals of SNSD–Taeyeon, Tiffany andSeohyun–which was cause for much anticipation among fans. Their single “Twinkle” is from the 7-track mini-album of the same name that was just released online on April 29, 2012. When the first images of TaeTiSeo were shown, many expected something similar to Orange Caramel orRainbow Pixie, based on the bright colors and wacky fashion. However, after a string of video teasers last week, it was obvious fans were in for a very different sound. The MV has finally been revealed, and from the moment the Jinny Kim “Debutante Ball“-wearing foot steps out of theRolls Royce, until the very end, the girls do not disappoint with this jazzy tune.
There were a number of wardrobe changes throughout the video, but when we first see TaeTiSeo surrounded by reporters and camera flashes, they wear sequin-covered shimmering gold dresses with bright floral accents. The outfits are custom made by Korean designer Hong Hye Jin of the label The Studio K. This is not the first time this designer has worked with SNSD, as she is responsible for the majority of the stage outfits for “The Boys” promotions as well as some from the MV; some “Mr. Taxi” costumes were also from Hong Hye Jin. Tiffany and Taeyeon attended the Fall 2012 show for The Studio K at last month’s Seoul Fashion Week. A tweet from the label’s official twitter announced their involvement with the K-pop group.
Later when TaeTiSeo belt out “Twinkle” into rhinestone-encrusted vintage microphones with the accompaniment of a full band, the trio wears a variety of pieces from Moschino. Taeyeon wears a crocheted flower applique dress ($1,295) from the Cheap and Chic line with a cropped leather jacket ($595) from the same collection. Seohyun rocks out in a heart-covered matador “Torero” jacket from the main Spring/Summer 2012 Moschino collection. Tiffany sports a retro-style halter dress ($915) that features a watercolor produce print; it is Moschino Cheap and Chis as well.
