Celebrity Style: Uee at the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards

On April 26 in Seoul, the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards were held to honor outstanding performances from the past year in both Film and Television categories; much like the Golden Globes in the United States, an award show like this brings many stars together in one place. As with all awards shows, Kfashionista’s favorite part is before the show–on the red carpet–where the winners and losers are judged on their talents in dressing to impress.
One of this year’s attendees has consistently made a splash with both her acting and red carpet presence is After School’s Uee. The singer-turned-actress won over audiences with her portrayal of Baek Ja Eun in the weekend drama Ojakkyo Brothers. Uee had already won the “Best Rookie Actress” award for this role at the year-end KBS Drama Awards, but now she can add the “Best New Actress” award from the Baeksangs to her list of achievements. Since these awards include multiple networks, it is held in higher regard to her previous award, proving that the idol is also a legitimate actress.
Her gorgeous red carpet look is courtesy of the Fall 2011 Dior Collection, the sumptuous final line for the fashion house from disgraced designer John Galliano. The embroidered bodice with pearl beading gives way to layer after layer of pleated ruffles. The skirt starts as a soft pink and gradually fades to pale blue. She accessorized her look with a Dior clutch, strappy heels and a variety of pastel jewelry that complimented the dress well. Her side-swept fishtail braid keeps the look youthful and refreshing.
